Our Mission
Nationally, SBF acts as the bridge between the government and businesses in Singapore to create and enhance a pro-business environment.Internationally, SBF represents the business community in bilateral, regional and multilateral fora for the purpose of promoting trade expansion and business networking.
The SBF was formed on 1 April 2002 by the SBF Act which was passed by Parliament requiring all Singapore-registered companies with a paid-up capital of S$0.5 million and above to become members of the SBF.
Its formation was to realise a more comprehensive organisation and representation of the Singapore business community's interests at home and abroad.
As the apex business chamber and leading voice of the business community in Singapore, SBF:
- strengthens Singapore's tripartite relationship of business working in concert with government and employees' unions
- facilitates better co-ordination between public agencies and the business community
- engages the Singapore and foreign governments on business policy issues
- partners businesses to enhance competitiveness through capacity building
- helps its members to network and organize exchanges to cultivate contacts and tap into business opportunities worldwide
